Black Andalusian Broodmare (PRE)

Bravata Andalusians is proud to introduce Conquista BV, a blue-black, pure Spanish Andalusian filly. Born May 15, 2004, Conquista is a pure homozygous black in color with a small star as her only marking.

Conquista is the daughter of the wonderful, imported, black, PRE, Escalera stallion, Axis/Ingrato IX, himself the son of the famous military stallion Lebrijano III, grandson of Agente and great grandson of Maluso. Axis is pure Old Spanish Military on his top line and pure Jose Escalera on his bottom line. He is linebred to Agente and Maluso. Axis is an uncle to the recent Olympic Dressage medal winner, Invasor through his sire, Lebrijano III. That means that Conquista is a first cousin to Invasor on her sire line.

Conquista's PRE dam is the gorgeous DS Tango, daughter of Genio III so Tango is pure Bocado on her top line. Tango's mother is the beautiful black Sonadora V, a daughter of the famous Lebrijano III. That means that Tango is also a first cousin to Invasor on her dam line. Tango is from an unbroken dam line of Escalera ancestors. The Escalera breeding program is possibly the most consistent in Spain, selecting for functionality for over 200 years.

With this pedigree, Conquista is a rare genetic treasure. Conquista’s breeding joins a solid Military/Escalera top line and a solid Escalera bottom line, with an infusion of Carthusian from Jardinerio via Genio. Conquista represents a very rare linebreeding to Lebrijano III, a bloodline almost impossible to find in North America. These are rare and very valuable bloodlines. It is exactly the sort of pedigree that is highly sought after in Spain for dressage breeding. Outside of Spain these lines are truly unique.

The mixture of Axis x Tango has clicked every time. The foals are 1/4 Bocado and 3/4 Military/Escalera. We believe that this is the perfect mix. Bocado for beauty and temperament. Escalera/Military for functionality and temperament. There have been 5 foals out of this combination. We keep repeating it because all of the babies have been gorgeous.

Conquista BV is a Foundation Broodmare of exceptional quality with long, straight legs, long neck, and short back. Her quiet, calm, loving temperament follows that of her Escalera ancestors.

Conquista's is registered with the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA) as a pure Spanish Andalusian (S). She is also inscribed in the Spanish stud book as a PRE. She was the first PRE Andalusian revised outside of Spain under the new ANCCE studbook management. Below are photos taken at her revision.
