There
are only about 9,000 Spanish Andalusians in the US, with just a handful in some states. Because they are so rare, a good quality Andalusian over 3 years old
is difficult to find - especially at a reasonable price. If you want an
Andalusian, you usually must be patient, purchase young stock and wait until
they grow up. This is especially true of the rare black
Andalusian. However, because an Andalusian foal is so pleasant to handle and
easy to train, this turns out to be a blessing as you enjoy watching your baby
develop into the Andalusian of your dreams.
Sacramento BV
Black Andalusian Colt
Since he was born on Easter Sunday 2007, we thought Sacramento would be an appropriate name for this black Andalusian colt.
Sacramento is combination of Bocado and old Military bloodlines - approximately 50/50. These are two of the premier Andalusian lines. Sacramento has an excellent, quiet, calm temperament and is built for dressage. All the angles and bone structure are correct. His movement is straight and his elevation, engagement and overstride are exceptional.
The vet says Sacramento will be very tall, especially for an Andalusian. He was 43 1/2 inches at birth. He is now 13 months old and measures 15.1h with a stick. We have done the leg measurement thing and it indicates that Sacramento will be about 17h.
Sacramento is a pure Spanish Andalusian and homozygous black. His only marking is a white right rear foot. Sacramento will be registered with the IALHA.
The videos were taken at 5 weeks and 13 months. In the second he has shed out his foal coat and come in black. As he sheds again the next few times he will get even darker.
At 13 months, Sacramento is tall and rangy and a bit 'butt high.' As he fills out over the next year or so he will become more and more impressive.
The video shows his first lunging lesson.
We are asking $16,000 for this rare black Andalusian stud colt.
