Tornado BV

Pure Black Andalusian Colt (PRE)

Tornado was born July 15, 2006. He is pure homozygous black Andalusian colt. Tornado has no white markings. We have repeated the breeding which produced Conquista BV (see "Broodmare" page) and Incognita BV (see "Sold" page). This represents an extremely rare linebreeding to Lebrijano III, a bloodline almost impossible to find in North America. Lebrijano is the sire and grandsire of champions, including Invasor and Gaucho III.

Because Tornado's sire, Axis, was bred in Spain by Jose Escalera and the mother, DS Tango, is out of a pure Escalera dam, he is essentially pure Escalera - a bloodline that is considered very special by knowledgeable horsemen in both Spain and America.

In addition, Tornado BV is a cousin to two-time Spanish Olympic team Dressage medal winner, Invasor. He is a first cousin on the father's side (via Axis). Tornado's dam, DS Tango, is also a first cousin to Invasor, so the foal will be a double cousin.

Tornado has been registered with the IALHA (S). He has also been inscribed as a PRE in the Spanish Studbook and will be eligible for revision.

Tornado has straight and forward movement with good engagement and moderate elevation. He will be 15.2 to 15.3h upon maturity.

Incognita BV

Pure Black Andalusian Filly (PRE)

Axis x DS Tango

Incognita BV is a wonderful pure black, pure Spanish, PRE Andalusian filly. Born July 15, 2005, Incognita has no white markings. Incognita has an excellent conformation with long legs, short back and an unusually nice rear end. She has straight movement with good suspension and drive - definitely dressage quality. Incognita also has the typical sweet calm quite temperament that we have come to expect from all of our Axis foals. We expect her to mature at 15.2h or more.

This filly is a rare genetic treasure. Incognita's sire is the wonderful, imported, pure Escalera stallion, Axis/Ingrato IX (PRE). Axis is pure Old Spanish Military on his top line and pure Jose Escalera on his bottom line. He is linebred to Agente and Maluso. Axis is an uncle to the recent Olympic Dressage medal winner, Invasor through his sire, the well known Military stud Lebrijano III, himself a son of the legendary Agente. That means that Incognita is a first cousin to Invasor on her sire line.

Incognita's dam is DS Tango (PRE). Tango is a Genio daughter, so she is pure Bocado on her top line. Tango's dam is another daughter of Lebrijano III and pure Jose Escalera blood. That means that Tango is also a first cousin to Invasor on her dam line.

Therefore, Incognita is pure Escalera/Military on her topline and pure Escalera on her bottom line. These are rare and very valuable bloodlines. It is exactly the sort of pedigree that is highly sought after in Spain for dressage breeding. Outside of Spain these lines are truly unique.

Incognita is a full sister to our broodmare, Conquesta BV.

Incognita is inscribed in the Spanish Studbook as PRE and eligible for revision. She is also registered with the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA) as a pure Spanish Andalusian (S).

Comandante BV

This 2003 colt is the rarest of the rare. There are only about 350 black Andalusians in the US. Comandante is pure black, with no white markings. Comandante is a primo show or stallion prospect; Nice sturdy conformation with straight, forward, dressage-type movement; Excellent impulsion and moderate elevation; No winging; Super temperament; Outgoing without being aggressive, personality plus; Wants to be your best friend.

Comandante features an excellent pedigree with a pure Military/Escalera topline. His super pedigree is a “Who’s Who” of Spanish greats: Caprichoso, Castiblanco, Leopardo, Legionario, Campanero, Poseido, and Nevado. Comandante has over 30% in common with the legendary Agente and over 13% in common with Maluso.

Comandante would do well in Dressage or as a Jumper or Eventer. He would also go well in Fine Harness. If you have been dreaming of owning a Black Andalusian Stallion, this could be your dream come true.

This 2004 filly will be black, with only small star - no other white markings. Zarzamora is very athletic with super sporthorse conformation with straight, forward, dressage-type movement (no winging); This girl is built for competition in either dressage or jumping; Laid back shoulder; Exceptional impulsion and suspension (look at the over-stride in the photos nearby): Nice, but not excessive, elevation; Should finish at 16h or better; Super nice temperament; Quiet, calm, loving.

Mariquita is both a Cordobes granddaughter and a Lebrijano granddaughter. From her sire line, she has over 30% in common with Agente and over 13% in common with Maluso. On her mother's side, she has both Poseido and Nevado. This combination of Military, Escalera and Bocado makes Mariquita a unique broodmare prospect.

Mariquita is only for sale because she isn’t black, so she doesn’t fit into our breeding program. However she has a 50% chance of throwing black if bred to a black stallion.
